It is just one of those human truths that we all like to compete and through the ages we humans have dreamt up more and more odd ways to pitch ourselves against one another. I mean if you stand back in the cold light of day and look at many sports and games you would struggle to argue that they make sense - when I played rugby my non sporting friends (the less sport more artistic types) would joke about grown men chasing a ball and beating each other up and now I find the same types ask me 'what is it about this wheelchair rugby thing? you mean they are paralysed and yet they smash the shit out of each other?' It has been another really good week with lots going on so thought I would give you a bit of an update. Our development work continues at quite a pace and over the last week the South London taster sessions started in partnership with the Weir-Archer Foundation - our thanks to our London club for supporting this. We also were able to run two sessions at Colchester as part of our Military Recovery Centre programme for which we are supported by Help 4 Heroes - thanks here to Steve Brown and Chris Ryan who coached these and who went down well with the military. Tigers lead Coloplast Division 2 & New Clubs Sweep Individual Awards

At the end of the the second Coloplast Divison 2 weekend, Marauders Tigers lead the table with 15 points with Sharks a close second with 13 points. Teams did really well to battle the weather to get to the tournament in Leicester but the quality of the tournament made it all worthwhile. The only apparent casualty was Solent Shark’s van (picture below) which took the full force of a fallen tree! Fortunately there were no casualties and the chairs in the back of the van were undamaged. The van also acted as a block for a number of private cars parked next to it! ...

WELCOME to the new website- it has taken a while but we hope you will be pleased with the result. It isn’t perfect yet and it is not supposed to be, we will welcome you all using it and passing any comments and suggestions you have to Daniel so we can iron out the glitches and improve the content. We still have words, photographs and documents to upload and we continue doing that over the next few days but wanted to get this on the streets now! It is Coming!

We are almost there with the launch of the new website – Kirsty, Daniel and I spent all of yesterday with the developers and the site is looking really good. We will be uploading content over the next few days and then hope to get it launched over the next week. As soon as it is out there we will be able to see how it is working and correct any glitches whilst still uploading new material. This will give you all a chance to comment and report back any things that need further work. That way we should have the completed and tested site in the next month which will be great. So this is the final blog from me on this site – a shame really because I have quite alot of really good news storie...

Going into December on a High

As we go into December there is a real sense that lots of good things are happening and that we are ending the year on a high. Our activity to get more people aware of our sport and playing the game continues to build with sessions at Canterbury, Gloucester and Woodbridge. There is fantastic engagement and support in all three of these areas, particularly from the RFU clubs and from Gloucester University and it will not be long before we have another 3 wheelchair rugby clubs who are ready to join the league.
