Behind every great wheelchair rugby club are the people who make it happen.
From coaches and volunteers to community champions and the clubs themselves, grassroots wheelchair rugby depends on the dedication, skills and passion of people who give their time and energy to the sport.
At Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR), we are incredibly proud of the people working throughout our community to create safe, welcoming and empowering environments where members can enjoy wheelchair rugby and thrive.
We believe these contributions deserve recognition.
That is why we are delighted to launch the GB Wheelchair Rugby Annual Community Awards, celebrating the outstanding people and clubs making a difference across wheelchair rugby.
Recognising the People Who Make Our Sport Possible
The Annual Community Awards recognise the achievements and contributions of clubs and individual members of the GBWR community over the past 12 months.
Whether it is a volunteer who consistently goes above and beyond, a coach who brings out the best in their players, a young person making an outstanding contribution to their club, or an entire club creating an exceptional environment for its members, we want to hear their story.
This is an opportunity for our community to say thank you and shine a spotlight on the people whose enthusiasm, commitment and hard work help wheelchair rugby flourish.
Award Categories
🏆 Club of the Year
Recognising a club that has made an outstanding contribution to wheelchair rugby and demonstrated the values that make our community special.
🌟 Community Champion
Celebrating an individual whose dedication and contribution has made a significant positive difference to their club or the wider wheelchair rugby community.
🙌 Young Volunteer of the Year
Recognising an outstanding young volunteer who has generously given their time, enthusiasm and skills to support wheelchair rugby.
🏐 Club Coach of the Year
Celebrating a club coach whose commitment, leadership and approach have had an outstanding impact on players and their club.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Nominees must be current GB Wheelchair Rugby members in good standing.
If you know a club, coach, volunteer or community champion whose contribution deserves recognition, we encourage you to submit a nomination and tell us what makes them exceptional.
