The second tournament of the GBWR Division Two season, proudly sponsored by Allied Mobility, delivered two days of thrilling wheelchair rugby action at Kettering Arena. Eight teams battled for supremacy, showcasing skill, strategy, and determination in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
London Dominate in Kettering!
Crusaders clinch the Allied Mobility Division Two Tournament 2 title with a 55–45 win over West Coast Burn. MVP Kylie Grimes leads the charge as London go unbeaten across the weekend.
Group Stage Highlights
Group A featured West Coast Burn, London Crusaders, Cheltenham Tigers Seconds, and North East Udders.
- West Coast Burn opened strong with a commanding 66–33 win over North East Udders.
- London Crusaders edged Cheltenham Tigers Seconds 48–43 in a nail-biter.
- Burn continued their momentum, defeating Cheltenham 47–44, while Crusaders dominated Udders 62–29.
- In the final group clashes, Crusaders overcame Burn 69–45, and Cheltenham secured a 56–31 victory over Udders.
Group B saw Leicester Tigers Swifts, Stoke Mandeville Maulers, Ospreys WRC, and Caledonian Crushers go head-to-head.
- Leicester Swifts impressed early with a 67–18 win over Caledonian Crushers.
- Maulers beat Ospreys 58–44 in a high-scoring contest.
- Swifts continued their dominance against Ospreys (59–20), while Maulers edged Crushers 50–38.
- The final group games saw Swifts defeat Maulers 69–42, and Ospreys claim a 47–33 win over Crushers.
Sunday Showdown
The knockout stages brought drama and intensity:
- Semi-Finals: London Crusaders beat Stoke Mandeville Maulers 57–39, while West Coast Burn stunned Leicester Swifts 55–36.
- Bronze Match: Leicester Swifts held off Maulers 59–50 to secure third place.
- Final: London Crusaders clinched the title with a 55–45 victory over West Coast Burn in a thrilling finale.
Placement Games
- 5th/6th: Cheltenham Tigers Seconds defeated North East Udders 56–24.
- 7th/8th: Ospreys WRC overcame Caledonian Crushers 57–30.
