From festival events and competitions to coaching courses, officiating opportunities and workshops, the series is designed to help women and girls build confidence, develop skills and feel part of the wheelchair rugby community.
With the inaugural Women’s Wheelchair Rugby World Championship taking place later this year, women’s wheelchair rugby is entering an exciting new chapter. The Impact Series is about making sure women and girls across Great Britain have the opportunity to be part of that journey.
More Than Just Playing
Wheelchair rugby is about much more than what happens on court.
It’s about finding a community, building confidence, developing new skills and creating opportunities that can last a lifetime.
The Women and Girls Impact Series has been developed to support women and girls in every part of the sport, whether that’s competing, coaching, officiating, volunteering or simply taking their first step into wheelchair rugby.
Built around four key areas:
- Playing and competing
- Developing people
- Creating inclusive environments
- Supporting women’s health and wellbeing
Learn, Lead and Grow
Across the season, participants will have access to a range of free development opportunities.
These include Community Activator and Community Coach courses, helping more women and girls build the skills and confidence to become coaches, leaders and role models within the sport.
A dedicated Table Officiating Course will also provide opportunities for those interested in supporting competition and developing a deeper understanding of the game.
Alongside these practical learning opportunities, participants will be able to access inclusion workshops and women’s health sessions designed to start important conversations, share experiences and support long-term involvement in sport.

- WR5s Women’s Competition in Coventry
- Women and Girls Festival Day at St George’s Park
- Women and Girls Competition at Kettering Arena alongside the Junior Nationals in January 2027
