Let’s Play: Willow’s story

The ‘Let’s Play' event in Leeds gave Willow (pictured below with GBWR Coach Luke White) the opportunity to experience not only wheelchair rugby, but wheelchair sports, for the first time. Willow has been desperate to try wheelchair rugby since the London 2012 Paralympics, realising the potential there was for her to play sport and be a part of something that has inspired her. Willow’s father said the day was ‘a real turning point for her' and that Willow ‘smiled from the beginning to the end of the session'. Variants of Our Game

For some time now we as a sport have been discussing the different forms of wheelchair rugby that have been growing up around us. These forms include Wheelchair Rugby 7s – and we have seen more than one form of this, the Invictus form of the game and Wheelchair Rugby League , I am sure there are more.
