GBWR Officials at the IWRF 2015 European Championship

GBWR are proud to announce that two GBWR officials have been selected to officiate at the IWRF 2015 European Division B Championship. Dave Woods has been given the honourable task of being Head Official of the tournament, and Sam Jessup fought off tough competition to be selected as a table official. Good News for the Dorset Destroyers

One of our newest community clubs the Dorset Destroyers have received some really good news for Christmas. The club had applied to the Sport England Small Grants funding scheme and have just been informed that they have been awarded nearly £10,000. The club will be using this funding to buy four new chairs as they work towards their first regular training session in February....

Luke Twizell is the Hartlepool Disabled Sportsperson of the Year 2014

The Hartlepool Mail Disabled sports personality of the year award 2014 was awarded to 20 year old Luke Twizell. Luke plays for the North East Bulls WRC and was recently selected for the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Development Squad. Luke also recently won the award for best 1.5 pt player at the GBWR Super Series Division 2 competition in November 2014. Luke's talent and friendly manner is getting noticed in all settings. West Midlands Warriors WRC

The West Midlands Warriors (WMW) WRC are a developing club which cater for the whole of the West Midlands. The club has recently formed a partnership with the Worcester Warriors rugby club. The rugby club are supporting the WMW to recruit volunteers and players. The club welcomes all levels of experience and any one just interested in an additional training session. Paul Jenkins – Wales Sports Coach to the Disabled 2014

Top coach and top man Paul Jenkins was awarded 'Wales Sports Coach to the Disabled' at an awards ceremony in Cardiff last night. Jinx is well known to everyone in wheelchair rugby and has coached the Pirates for over ten years. Along with Mike Spence, he was one half of the coaching duo who coached the GB Invictus team to a gold medal at this year's Invictus Games.
