GB Wheelchair Rugby is delighted to announce its first ever Community Week, with engaging, inspiring and educational webinars.
Community Week 2021 will take place 1st-5th February, and GBWR members will have the opportunity to attend exciting webinars and a quiz from the comfort of their homes, via Zoom.
The sessions will include educational webinars focusing on basic chair maintenance and athlete nutrition as well as evenings with the GB Team’s Head Coach Paul Shaw and a very exciting guest speaker. The week will be ending with the GBWR Big Quiz, where club members, officials, volunteers and staff can create teams and compete in a fun, interactive quiz online.
At Wednesday’s (3rd February) webinar attendees can sit back and listen to the inspiring journey of the GB Team Head Coach, Paul Shaw, as he talks about his playing and coaching experiences at the Paralympics. Paul will be drawing on his playing experiences of Sydney (2000), Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008) as well as his coaching experience of Rio (2016). As well as looking back he will look to the future, discussing the preparation for Tokyo and the effect COVID-19 has had on preparations.
Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of our very exciting guest speaker!
All webinars will be available soon – they’re free to join, but you must register for each webinar individually through Eventbrite in advance to secure your space.
