GB Names 12-Player Squad for Brazil 2026

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby is delighted to announce its 12-player squad that will represent Great Britain at the 2026 World Wheelchair Rugby (WWR) World Championships in São Paulo, Brazil.

Taking place from 17-23 August 2026, the tournament will bring together the world’s leading wheelchair rugby nations in a week of elite international competition as teams battle for the title of world champions.

The selected squad reflects a blend of proven international experience and exciting emerging talent, with six athletes set to make their World Championship debuts in Great Britain colours.

Among the squad’s most experienced athletes is Jonathan Coggan, who will compete in his sixth World Championships, having represented Great Britain at every edition of the tournament since 2006.

The squad also showcases the continued strength of the GB Wheelchair Rugby performance pathway, with a number of younger athletes earning selection after impressing through domestic and international competition.

As Great Britain prepares for the challenge ahead, the team continues to be guided by the principles of Courage, Togetherness and Perseverance, values that have shaped the programme’s culture and approach throughout the build-up to Brazil.

As the programme continues its journey towards the LA 2028 Paralympic Games, the tournament represents another important step in the development of a talented and ambitious Great Britain squad.
