GB Wheelchair Rugby is delighted to announce that Wayne Barnes, international rugby union referee and barrister, will be opening the 2021 Community Week.
Wayne’s career has taken him from regularly refereeing in the Premiership to being awarded World Rugby Referee of the Year 2019. He has become a regular official at the Six Nations tournaments as well as being part of the officiating team for the Rugby World Cup 2019, refereeing one of the quarter-finals and the bronze medal match between New Zealand and Wales.
On Monday 1st February 7pm-8:30pm join us via Zoom to hear Wayne’s story. He will talk about his journey from grassroots referee to officiating at the World Cup, discussing how he prepares for high-profile games and coping with the pressure. He will be finishing with a Q&A session with the audience.
