GB Wheelchair Rugby can confirm that Adam Scaturro has agreed to step down as Head Coach. This proactive decision ensures the performance programme has sufficient time to make changes while continuing the development of the squad in the lead up to the World Championships in August. It also provides an opportunity for the programme to implement a coaching structure that will provide the best chance of sustainable, long-term success with a clear focus on the European Championships in 2027.
Jem Akpinar will assume lead coaching responsibilities for both the upcoming Canada Cup and the World Championships. We would like to thank Adam for his passion, commitment and contribution to the GB programme since joining as Assistant coach in 2022 and for his support in managing this period of transition.
