In 2017, Molly Smith took on the challenge of running 365 consecutive days to support GBWR’s fundraising campaign to support the GB team on the road to Tokyo 2020.
Molly’s brother Jack broke his neck 11 years ago and is a member of the GB wheelchair rugby team, and currently plays for Leicester Tigers, the 18/19 Super Series champions.
During her campaign, Molly unfortunately suffered an injury which put her out of action for a few months – not to be deterred, Molly laced up her running shoes again and started the challenge again!
Molly’s challenge has so far involved:
2 x Ultra Marathons (London to Brighton & winning the Northumberland Coastal)
2 x Marathons
1 x Great North Run
1 x Sunderland Half Marathon
in addition to numerous 10ks and various trail & road races.
This weekend Molly will complete the challenge by running the Brighton Marathon. So far Molly has raised in excess of £5,500, and you can contribute to her campaign at JustGiving.
Thank you Molly!
