Former England Hockey player and Sport England Project Manager to head World Wheelchair Rugby Community Programme

Message from CEO:

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Bunnage as the 2015 WWRC Community Programme Manager. The post which is supported by Sport England funding will ensure that we maximise the opportunity that WWRC15 presents by building community programmes and events which increase the opportunities for people to volunteer, play and support our game.

A former County PE & Sport Development Adviser, Senior Relationship Manager with the National Sport Team at Sport England and Project Manager for the Sporting Champions programme, Julie brings a depth of knowledge and experience to support the growth wheelchair rugby.

Julie has an exciting prospect ahead to coordinate an amazing community programme that will really grab the imagination of the public and provide new opportunities to participate in wheelchair rugby. She will draw on her experiences from her former company, Inspired Exchange, to create a Community Programme that is accessible to all, attracts new participants, volunteers, officials and excites wheelchair rugby fans across the country.

A sports fanatic and former England hockey player, Julie recently took up golf in her spare time. Fortunately the excitement of getting involved in wheelchair rugby is a much more certain proposition and will be the focus for all of her energy in the build up to the World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge 2015.
