GBWR are pleased to announce the eight athletes who will make up the first women’s wheelchair rugby team to represent Great Britain. The athletes will represent GB at the Women’s Cup in Paris from 8 to 12 March 2023.
The Women’s cup is an event run by the French Wheelchair Rugby Federation and is currently the only international event for female players. This will be the third time the event has been run in Paris and this year includes teams from Canada and France, as well mixed teams made up of individual players from all over Europe.

The squad will be taking part in two training camps in February, under the guidance of Head Coach, Rob Tarr and Assistant Coach, Cara Lewis. Rob is hoping to repeat the success he had last year in guiding the low point GB team to a Gold medal at the World Games. This was the first time wheelchair rugby was included in the event, and the first major international event for the low-point discipline. You can read more about this historic competition here.
