Womens Cup 2024

The 2024 Women’s Cup is taking place in Paris from 2 to the 8 December 2024. The tournament is scheduled to take place around the United Nations International Day of Disabled persons, symbolising a celebration of women’s wheelchair rugby. GB wheelchair rugby will be entering a team again for this year’s competition, hoping to build on the success of winning the 2023 tournament. We are looking for athletes who aspire to represent GBWR in an all-female paralympic discipline team.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply you must:

  • be a British passport holder
  • reside in Great Britain
  • be aged 14 years or over (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
  • have a domestic or international paralympic classification (temporary domestic classifications are not eligible)

Selection process

  • applications will be screened by a selection committee appointed by GBWR and athletes will be selected to move onto Step 2
  • selection is based on level of experience, current performance, and the committee’s knowledge of the athlete
  • athletes who are not selected for Step 2 will be notified by email
  • selected athletes will be informed by email and invited to a training camp

The GBWR women’s team will have one training camp in Leicester 26-27 October, futher details will be provided at a later stage. Accommodation will be provided, and expenses paid for food however travel costs will not be covered for the training camp.

Selected players will need to be available from the 2-8 December. Competition entries, all flights to Paris, accommodation and food will be provided for the trip (please note expenses will not be paid to for travel to the airport and any parking charges).
Travel and accommodation costs for parents and carers will not be covered.
