I caught up with coaches Paul Shaw and Darren Mathews this morning with a FaceTime call from their hotel room in the village. Both were very upbeat and with the good news that the team are all fit and well and rested after their travels. Saturday morning was a further period of recovery and physio followed by the final session in the training venue – from tomorrow the team get into the Yoyogi Stadium which is the venue for the competition and a practice game with Denmark. With classification also starting, it is beginning to feel much more like competition mode. Saturday’s training was a move up in intensity with contact and game play. Lee Stutely reports that the village is starting to get busy now and Saturday was one of the biggest arrival days of GB athletes so lots more buzz around ParalympicsGB building. The village is pretty warm with temperatures in the 30s and humidity above 70 so not too much time is being spent outside. The image here of team en route to training shows the Tokyo Tower in the background.

Back home we are starting to see some great pick up ahead of the games next week, the latest being the article on Kylie in today’s Daily Mirror.
