Off the back of our success at the Womens Cup in Paris earlier this year, and successful women and girl’s sessions at the recent Quad Nations and European Championship events in Cardiff, GBWR are running a women and girls programme. Meet this month’s Club of the Month - Leicester Tigers WRC. A club that has grown in membership, structure and ambition over the last couple of years. The Tigers are currently soaring high, in 2022, the Tigers were strong contenders in the WR5s league and were only beaten by the 2022 league champions, Northampton Saints. Review of the Welsh Open 2023

On Saturday, 15 July 2023 the second Welsh Open wheelchair rugby tournament took place at the LC2 in Swansea as part of a Parasport Festival. Four teams competed for the trophy with each team having played three games in the preliminary round. All the games were very competitive and close, the tournament was played in true sportsman fashion and enjoyed by all including, players, officials, and spectators. GBWR National Awards Announced for 2023

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby launched their national awards for long-standing exceptional achievement to wheelchair rugby. GBWR Launch Women and Girls Programme

GBWR are launching a programme of activity to support the development of our female members. We will be running four women and girls coaching sessions this year, two of which will be held in the north of the country and two in the south.
