GBWR Launch Women and Girls Programme

GBWR are launching a programme of activity to support the development of our female members.

We will be running four women and girls coaching sessions this year, two of which will be held in the north of the country and two in the south. The first two sessions will take place next month and there will be a further two sessions taking place in November 2023.

We kick off with our first northern session which will be held in Sheffield on Saturday, 22 July 2023 at the English Institute of Sport. The coaching session will run 11am – 4pm and will be led by ex-GB coach, Rob Tarr, who also coached the winning team at the Women’s Cup 2023 in Paris earlier this year.

The first southern session is the following weekend, taking place on Saturday, 29 July, 11am – 4pm and again will be coached by Rob Tarr. This session is being held at Arborfield Green Leisure Centre, Reading, RG2 9GB.

These sessions are open to all GBWR female playing members over the age of 16 from both the Paralympic and wheelchair rugby fives disciplines.

This is a great opportunity to come and take part in an all-female session, to meet and train with players from other clubs, share your experiences and help you develop as players.

There will be a £10 deposit payable which will be refunded following the event. There will be no refunds however for non-attendance unless communicated prior to the event.

Participants need to have access to their own rugby chair and come dressed to take part in an active session. Participants will be responsible for supplying their own spare inner tubes aswell as providing their own water and lunch provisions.
