| Update |
| The Grow Your Club fund has been extended and applications will now be accepted until 31st January 2022. |
The GBWR Grow Your Club Fund is an exciting new initiative to support clubs that are returning to training and competition and want to recruit new members.
Clubs can apply for up to £500 to pay towards helping attract new members to your club. If you think you have a great idea how you can do this, then we want to hear it! Whether this is running taster sessions, getting involved in local events, working with schools, or running a social media campaign, if you think it will attract more people to your club then you can apply for this grant.
The funding can be used for:
• Venue hire
• Chair transport
• Van hire
• Promotion and advertising
• Paid online advertising
• Website design
• Additional equipment (such as gloves, cones, and first aid kits etc.)
• Additional chair storage
GBWR will provide:
• Up to £500 funding
• RDO support
• GBWR club taster session support pack
• Data collection paperwork
• Case study template
• Risk assessment and session plan paperwork
The fund is only open to clubs registered with GBWR and will be open until the 31st January 2022. Projects must be delivered by the end of March 2022. Each club can apply to the fund once.
How to apply:
Discuss your project with your RDO, then complete and submit the application form including a costed budget.
Clubs will be notified within four weeks after submitting the application form. If you are successful, the funds will be paid directly into the club’s bank account.
Applications will be assessed on:
- Will the activity lead to increase participation?
- Financial need
New club resources and toolkit
Look out for new information and resources coming soon on the Club Hub to help you think about how you can reach more people and welcome them into your club.
We are also developing a new toolkit which will provide more information which you can use on your website and social media and for new and existing members such as:
- Handy one-page briefing sheets on the sport, our key messages, and member guidelines
- Common Q&As on wheelchair rugby, playing the game, and getting involved
- Access to logos and new promotional templates for promoting your club
- Access to GBWR photography and imagery for use on websites and social media
- Tips, guidance, and templates e.g. press releases, for working with the media
- Information and advice on fundraising, sponsorship, and grant applications
As well as this we will be offering virtual workshops through our sports marketing partner TLA to support you to develop you online presence and reach more people digitally.
