Help Shape the Future of GBWR

We are in the process of developing a new strategy to shape the future of our sport. As part of this we would like to talk to you about your experiences of playing wheelchair rugby. We are working with the Sports Industry Research Group at Sheffield Hallam University to run a number of focus groups so that we can speak with members about the different reasons you play, what you enjoy, what could be better and anything else you would like to tell us.

The focus groups will involve 8-10 people speaking to a researcher on a Zoom call for approximately 90 minutes as part of a group discussion. There will be two focus groups and we would like to speak to male and female members aged 16+. One group will be for those who have played for more than 5 years and one for those who have played for less than 5 years.

All the focus groups will be led by research professionals and no representatives from GBWR will be in attendance. The findings will be fed back to GBWR but any comments or feedback will remain confidential.

If you would like to volunteer to be part of this please contact Lauren Templeton, National Development Director at lauren.templeton@gbwr.org.uk, and state if you have played for more or less than 5 years. Anyone who attends will receive a £10 Amazon voucher (via email) as a thank you for your time.

The focus groups will run between the 10th and 18th of December (dates will be agreed with those attending) on a week night from 6.30-8pm.
