Earlier this year, GBWR launched a programme of activity to support the development of our female members. As part of this we ran two women and girls coaching sessions in July which were well received and attended by members from all over Great Britain.
Following on from the success of these sessions we have organised two further sessions in November, and invite all female playing members to sign up.
We kick off with another northern session which will be held again in Sheffield on Sunday, 5 November 2023 at the English Institute of Sport. The coaching session will run 11am – 4pm and will be led by ex-GB coach, Rob Tarr, who also coached the winning team at the Women’s Cup 2023 in Paris earlier this year.
The second session will be in the south of the country and is taking place on Saturday, 18 November, 11am – 4pm. This session will be coached by GBWR s Junior Programme Development Officer and Northampton Saints WRC coach, Jamie Higgins. This session is being held at Arborfield Green Leisure Centre, Reading, RG2 9GB.
Both sessions are open to all GBWR female playing members over the age of 16 from the Paralympic and wheelchair rugby fives disciplines. This is a great opportunity to come and take part in an all-female session, to meet and train with players from other clubs, share your experiences and help you develop as players.
