The GB Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) Women’s and Girls Talent (WGT) Team is preparing for an exciting visit to France, where they will face their French counterparts in a series of games on 31 January. This latest trip offers another valuable opportunity to deepen the connection between two nations committed to growing the women’s and girls’ game.

Competitive Opportunities for Developing Athletes

The fixtures will allow developing players from both programmes to test themselves in match‑day situations, gaining important experience against opponents who share similar goals, ambitions, and challenges. For many athletes, it represents a chance to compete, learn, and measure progress outside of their regular training environments.

Collaboration and Shared Learning

Alongside the competitive action, the teams will take part in a joint training day designed to encourage collaboration and shared learning. Coaches and players from both sides will exchange ideas, approaches, and best practice, creating an open and supportive environment where development comes first. This collaborative spirit has become a defining feature of the relationship between the GBWR and French programmes.
