Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby (GBWR) has launched its #ThisGirlCan campaign to encourage more women wheelchair users into the sport. The day will take place on 28th October 2018 at The Brentwood Centre, Essex CM15 9NN and will be open to all.

Throughout the day there will be time for socialising, wheelchair rugby taster sessions, and a choice to join in the competitive matches later in the day. There will also be a chance to meet Paralympian Kylie Grimes.

Julie Bunnage, GBWR National Development Director, comments: “Events like this offer exciting opportunities for women to get active in a friendly and supportive environment and I hope that the chance to try it out in person will show people that wheelchair rugby is something that every girl can do.”

Potential participants are invited to bring a friend and take part in the day where they will be introduced to the sport and discover more about the #ThisGirlCan campaign.

There will also be the opportunity for participants to create their own posters using the #ThisGirlCan app and discuss what can be done to encourage more women to take up wheelchair rugby.
