GBWR Club Impact Fund

The GBWR Club Impact Fund is an opportunity to support clubs in an area they feel they need aid to either sustain and/or grow members.

Working with your Club Development Manager (CDM) you can apply for up to £500 funding to pay towards helping to sustain and/or attract new members to your club.

We have 2 different grants available with different areas of focus (please note: clubs can only apply for one).

Grant 1: Player Recruitment

This grant will focus on ways to aid player recruitment. Whether this is running taster sessions, getting involved in local events, working with schools or raising your clubs digital profile etc. We would encourage clubs who do not have a strong digital outlook (eg no website, outdated website/social media, inactive social media presence etc) to utilise this fund to improve your online presence.

The funding can be used for:

  • Venue hire
  • Chair Transport
  • Van hire
  • Promotion and advertising
  • Paid online advertising
  • Web-site design
  • Course/workshop to improve marketing/digital skills
  • Additional equipment (such as gloves, cones, first aid kits etc)
  • Additional chair storage

This grant can be used to fund multiple projects eg £250 for improving digital, £250 to deliver a taster session.

Grant 2: Cost of Living Crisis Support

We are aware that the Cost of Living Crisis may have a direct impact on your club and/or members. Therefore, this fund can be used to ease the impact of the crisis and support you with maintaining your current members.

The funding can be used to:

  • Subsidise Venue hire
  • Support loss of income from reduced members
  • Contribute to purchasing consumables such as inner tubes and tyres etc
    *This grant CAN NOT be used to for player expenses.

GBWR will provide:

  • up to £500 funding
  • CDM support
  • Data collection paperwork
  • Case Study template

The fund is open to all GBWR recognised clubs with registered members and will be open until the 31 December 2022. Projects must be delivered by the end of March 2023. Each club is only allowed one application to the fund.

How to apply:
Discuss your project with your CDM, then complete and submit an application form including a costed budget. For applications to Grant 2 “Cost of Living support”, clubs will also need to provide a PDF copy of their latest bank statement, please email this to your CDM after submitting your application.
Clubs will be notified within 4 weeks after submitting the application form, if you are successful the funds will be paid directly into the club’s bank account.

Applications will be assessed on:

  • Will the activity lead to sustained/increased participation
  • Financial need

GBWR funding decisions are final.
