GB Wheelchair Rugby Looking for New Classifiers

GBWR is looking for people who are qualified (or nearly qualified) as a Physio or OT, or have a Sports Science Degree, and would be interested in becoming a classifier within the sport.

Classifiers are an integral part of our sport; their role is to determine an athlete’s class by testing and observing athletes as they perform a variety of movements and actions to better understand their muscle function and ability, with the purpose of ensuring fair and equitable competition at all levels of the sport.

Classification is done during GBWR events, so classifiers would be required to attend specific events across the season.

Interested people will be contacted and invited to a league weekend where they will meet our current classifiers, attend a basic workshop and gain information and skills on the role of a classifier.

To express your interest please email jaz.thompson@gbwr.org.uk with your name, qualifications and contact information.

To learn more about the classification process for wheelchair rugby visit the IWRF website.

Closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 29th November 2019.

If any questions, please get in touch with Jaz at the above email address.
