West Wycombe Park will be the setting for the clay shoot

E.J. Churchill & George Digweed MBE Hosting Clay Shoot Fundraiser

On 26th May 2020, E.J. Churchill and champion clay pigeon shooter George Digweed MBE are, for the second consecutive year, hosting a clay shoot to raise funds for GBWR ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games! George has won 26 world titles (13 Sporting, 11 Fitasc and 2 Compak), 19 European titles (15 Fitasc and 4 Compak), 4 European Compak titles, and 12 world cups. George is husband to Kate, who you will remember as the owner of racehorse Rothman whose impressive race winnings were kindly donated to GBWR.

The shoot will see us return to the stunning surroundings of West Wycombe Park by the kind permission of Sir Edward Dashwood Bt. E.J. Churchill is based on the Estate and is very much the Home of Shooting, comprising the famous gunmakers, established in 1891, and the shooting ground. The latter, covering about thirty-five acres, is the largest such ground in the country and has won the award for the Best Shooting Ground on a number of occasions.

The Pilla Performance Eyewear Magneto kit will be auctioned at the fundraiser

George will lay out game stands in the Park to include Grouse, Pheasant and Partridge, and the day will include breakfast, a mid-morning break, drinks on the South Colonnade, followed by lunch, prize giving and auction. The auction will include:

  • the Magneto performance eyewear kit from Pilla Sport, valued at £3000 – our thanks to CEO Philip Pilla for his generosity!
  • a full barrel service and refinish from Bromley & Son worth £200 -thank you to Danny Bromley for this donation!

Places are available for participants and non-shooting guests, too.
