As GBWR members will know, we have recently been working with Sporting People to review our previous coach education pathway and to develop a new framework. The next phase of development is for Sporting People and GBWR to create an updated coach education package that suits the requirements of our stakeholders. The plan is for GBWRs new coach education package to be aligned to the CIMPSA professional standards, and once the new pathway has been finalised and rolled out, learners will be able to collect CIMPSA points upon completion of our accredited workshops and courses.
To help ensure the updated package is fit for purpose we are looking to recruit a diverse group of current GBWR coaches to feedback on the developments that Sporting People and GBWR are working on.
The coaching advisory group would be a mixture of current wheelchair rugby club coaches with a diverse background of knowledge and experience within the sport aswell as club coaches with experience of other sport similar to wheelchair rugby. The group will aim to meet five times between June and December 2024 to discuss the progress of the redevelopment of the coach education pathway and to provide feedback and advice on the resources and assets which are intended to be used following the redevelopment.

If you have any questions regarding the advisory group, please contact Dale Thompson.
