GB Wheelchair Rugby is excited to announce that Adam Scaturro has been appointed as the new assistant coach for the GBWRs Elite programme. The recently retired former USA international player has combined the latter stages of his playing career with coaching domestic teams in the USA.
GBWRs Head of Performance Barry Mason commented:
“I am thoroughly excited by this appointment and what Adam can bring to our programme. He comes with years of experience as an international athlete and coach within the highly respected USA wheelchair rugby system. He is a young, innovative coach who is incredibly passionate about the sport, who will bring plenty of fresh ideas to our programme at a really important time in the cycle and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with him.”
A few words from Adam:
“Honoured to start the next chapter of my rugby career with such an amazing organization! Moving forward, I hope to learn and grow as a coach while being around an amazing group of athletes, coaches, and staff.”
Adam will commence his role with GBWR this month and will work alongside Head Coach Paul Shaw as the team begin their preparations for the European Championships in May 2023.
