Breaking Barriers Together:

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby welcomes The Hartford as a new 28 for 28 Partner

We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with The Hartford, a leader in property and casualty insurance, group benefits, and mutual funds, as part of the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby 28 for 28 initiative. This partnership marks another groundbreaking step in promoting inclusivity and raising awareness for disability sports in the UK.

Jason Brisbane, GBWR CEO, shared:

“We are extremely pleased that The Hartford is joining our 28 for 28 initiative. Together with our existing 28 for 28 partners, their support will play a crucial role in transforming wheelchair rugby in the UK, providing our athletes with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed on the journey to LA 2028.”

With more than 214 years of expertise and a deep-rooted history as an advocate for adaptive sports, The Hartford brings firsthand experience to this partnership. Having supported athletes with disabilities for more than 30 years in the United States, The Hartford is now expanding its mission to make adaptive sports more accessible and recognised in the UK.

Carl Bach, CEO of The Hartford Syndicate 1221 at Lloyd’s of London and head of International, shared his thoughts:

“We are proud to partner with GBWR to help raise awareness about adaptive sports. For more than 30 years, The Hartford has been an advocate for the adaptive sports movement. By bringing greater awareness to Wheelchair rugby, an exhilarating sport that combines speed, strategy and teamwork, we hope to help inspire others to join the movement and help us celebrate the achievements of athletes on their road to LA 2028.

This partnership will enable GBWR to continue building on its vision to be a driving force in disability sport, to amplify the voice of its members, and redefine how the world views and values disabled people.”
