Weekend Round-Up: 14–15 June 2025
A packed weekend of wheelchair rugby fives delivered high-octane action, standout performances, and fierce competition across League 1, League 2, the Premiership, and the Championship. Here’s your full recap of the results and MVPs from each division.
League 1
Dragons set the tone early with dominant wins over Endeavour Punishers (28–10) and Saracens (24–9), before falling to a strong RGC side 19–24. RGC remained unbeaten, also defeating Saracens (36–11), Endeavour Punishers (29–11), and West Country Hawks (28–8), establishing themselves as the team to beat.
West Country Hawks showed grit with wins over Endeavour Punishers (23–18) and Saracens (23–9), but couldn’t overcome the top two.
Despite a tough run, Endeavour Punishers remained competitive, with MVP Danielle Dyson leading from the front in every match.
League 1 MVP: Danielle Dyson – Endeavour Punishers
League 2
LT Swifts were electric, winning three of four matches, including a 30–2 rout of Brighton Buccaneers and a 20–4 win over Burton Wheelchair Rugby. Their only loss came in a thrilling 20–26 battle against Harlequins.
Harlequins bounced back from early defeats to notch key wins over Brighton (25–7), Burton (27–23), and LT Swifts.
Burton Wheelchair Rugby and Brighton Buccaneers struggled to find rhythm, though Burton managed a strong 28–8 win to finish.
League 2 MVP: Nikki Charlton – LT Swifts
Premiership
Leicester Tigers were in imperious form, sweeping all four matches, including a 29–10 win over North East Barbarians and a 27–13 victory over Help for Heroes. Their consistency and control made them clear favourites.
Help for Heroes also impressed, edging Solent Sharks Red (19–18) and North East Barbarians in overtime (22–18), before narrowly losing to Northampton Saints (22–19).
Vicki Ross of Help for Heroes earned MVP honours for her leadership and impact in every match.

Championship
Berkshire Banshees Green were the standout side, going unbeaten with wins over Ospreys (22–15), Coventry Stampede (24–21), Crawley Jets (29–26), and Penrith Pumas (29–26).
Ospreys had a strong showing, defeating Penrith Pumas (23–12) and Coventry Stampede (22–16), and were led by the outstanding Bruce Falkenberg, who earned Championship MVP.
Crawley Jets and Penrith Pumas both showed flashes of brilliance, with Crawley edging Penrith (22–18) and Coventry (22–18).
