Nasima brings a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to fostering inclusivity in sports, with a background in communications and marketing spanning over 20 years. Nasima has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to championing causes aligned with her values as the founder of Get the Affect, her independent communications and marketing agency, focusing engaging with communities and audiences that are often hard to reach to motivate them to get involved in sport in a way that works for them.
Nasima’s path to joining the GBWR board of directors has been marked by notable accomplishments. Nasima played a critical role in elevating the visibility of parasports and ensuring due recognition for athletes with disabilities while serving as the media and marketing lead for the World Para Swimming Championships in both 2019 and 2023. Her long-term tenure as the communications lead for Premiership Rugby’s community programmes demonstrates her dedication to fostering inclusivity. Her work has helped to integrate players from under-represented groups including women and girls, individuals with disabilities, and those from diverse backgrounds into the sport, and to support young people who are not in education, training, or employment through initiatives such as Project Rugby and HITZ.
