The Wheelchair Rugby Development Leagues have been set up to enable new and upcoming teams and players the chance to play against each other in a freindly atmosphere where the emphasis is on participation and not so much on competing for the top league spot.

The leagues are run primarilly by the individual clubs involved who each take it in turn to organise and run their own tournament.

The league enables newer clubs the chance to play agaisnt more experienced clubs with the more experienced clubs being able to trial different line-ups or shift the focus on their newer or less experienced players.

Individual players are encouraged to enter into the league if their club are not able to field a team, these players will either be involved with a mixed team or will be allocated a team to play with.
