Roger and Heather Alwen have been long time supporters of GBWR. After GB lost their funding in 2016, Roger and Heather brought the Lloyds of London insurance market and a number of other partners, including Sevenoaks Rugby Club – of which Roger is a member – together to raise funds to ensure GB were able to prepare for the Tokyo Paralympics, where the team claimed the gold medal – the first medal of any colour for a European team.
Roger and Heather have continued to support GBWR since the Tokyo Games and we are honoured to have them as part of the GBWR family.
Roger and Heather’s daughter Kate Digweed, and husband George, have also been instrumental in supporting GBWR, with fundraising efforts including donating winnings from their racehorse and hosting charity clay shoots to support the team.
